The Glory of the Resurrection

After being crucified on Good Friday and laid in a tomb, Jesus Christ rose from the dead early on Sunday morning, exactly as he had prophesied.

His resurrection signifies the ultimate victory of life over death and light over darkness. As the Bible states, 'If Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith.'

The Easter Vigil

The Easter Vigil is held late Saturday night or early Sunday morning. The service begins in darkness, and a new Paschal Candle is lit, representing the 'Light of Christ' returning to the world.

During this magnificent mass, holy water is blessed, and believers renew their baptismal promises, welcoming the new dawn of hope in their lives.

The Symbolism of Easter Eggs

In many cultures, painting and sharing Easter eggs is a cherished tradition. The egg is an ancient symbol of 'new life'.

Just as a living bird breaks out of a seemingly lifeless shell, Jesus Christ broke free from the sealed tomb to emerge with glorious new life, which the Easter egg beautifully symbolizes.

Joyous Celebrations

After strictly observing the 40 days of Lenten fasting, Easter is a day of grand celebration. Families dress in new clothes and prepare lavish feasts, particularly meat dishes.

People greet each other with joy, share sweets, and celebrate the message of hope and renewal.
